I am just about to embark on a night away with Book of Dad – it has been well over a year since we waved goodbye to our ankle biter for a night and made some time for us – so I am extremely excited to be heading to Bethnal & Bec.
The offering looks gorgeous and so well considered – down to the smallest details of pantry items listed you can have for breakfast and details of walks you can go on sent to you ahead of your visit. Vicky & Chris have really done so much so as you as the guest can just kick back, relax and have the most amazing time… sounds brilliant right?! Packing my pants as I type….

How did the idea of Bethnal and Bec come about?
Chris and I met online 5 years ago, I have a son with custody, and he has 3 – with 70% custody! He lived in Hertfordshire, and I lived in Tooting Bec. We both worked in London …..
Life with work, kids & dating was tricky with the distance… so I had to suck it up and leave London after 20 years!!!
I decided with that move 4 years ago, I’d plan to sell my business in London, but obviously needed a job – and I had the plan to buy a house together that we could run a self catering business from ….
Chris worked in Bethnal Green, I lived in Tooting Bec so Bethnal&Bec was born …..
During our dating time we enjoyed getting away for a few days when we didn’t have the kids – we stayed in various places – and were mostly underwhelmed……
We believe we’ve created a place that requires zero thinking to stay in …. you can just rock up and there’s loads of delicious UK artisan food, towels and bathrobes and lovely bathroom products too…. self catering so non of this having to get up for breakfast business …. and luxury – high spec rooms & bathrooms, private gardens with hot tubs and beautiful countryside views
Tell us a bit about the experience guests may expect when staying with you?
We hope to have thought of everything you might need in your stay – all you have to do is unpack! Comfy beds, cosy rooms and technology you might not have at home! It’s about feeling relaxed the minute you arrive

we have a lovely spot on the edge of the village with direct from your door walks – through woodland and fields. Our local pub The Bull is well renowned for its food
